Privacy Policy

SettleWorth is an independent, noncommercial informational project operated by Farish Punjani in Ontario, Canada. “SettleWorth,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to this project and its operator.

This policy applies to the public SettleWorth website and direct communications sent to its configured contact addresses.

Official settlement administrators and other external websites have their own services, privacy practices and policies.

You can browse, search, filter and use the current possible-match experience without creating an account or providing login credentials.

SettleWorth does not ask you to provide your SIN, CRA credentials, banking credentials, government identification, medical records, receipts, claim forms, confidential legal documents or payment-card details.

Please do not send those materials through email or a contact form. An official administrator may request information through its own process; review that administrator’s privacy information before submitting anything.

Hosting, infrastructure and security providers may process ordinary technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. Depending on the request and provider, this may include an IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device information, referring page, error information and security-related request data.

The initial public release does not use project-level behavioural analytics or tracking features. Necessary hosting and security mechanisms may still operate.

When you email SettleWorth, the project receives the email address, message, ordinary email metadata and anything you voluntarily include. Email providers and routing services also process those communications.

SettleWorth does not need sensitive claim documents or detailed eligibility narratives to answer a general question or investigate a public-information correction.

When you use the correction form, the information entered is used in your browser to prepare an email draft. SettleWorth does not receive or store the draft through the website.

SettleWorth receives the information only if you choose to send the email through your email application or provider. The form does not submit the report to a SettleWorth server, and the current service does not store correction reports in a database.

Information received may be used to respond to questions, investigate correction reports, maintain and improve public settlement information, protect the website, diagnose errors, comply with legal obligations, and preserve records reasonably needed to document corrections or communications.

SettleWorth does not currently use contact information for advertising or marketing campaigns.

The project relies on providers needed for website hosting and delivery, domain and DNS services, email forwarding or delivery, source-code hosting and deployment infrastructure, and security or error diagnostics where enabled.

Those providers may process or store technical and communication information outside Ontario or Canada. Foreign laws may apply, and the project does not promise that all information remains in Canada.

SettleWorth does not currently use advertising cookies or behavioural advertising. Project-level analytics and tracking features are disabled in the initial public release.

Hosting or security infrastructure may use technical mechanisms required to deliver or protect the service. This is not a promise that the service will never use other technologies if its scope changes.

Technical logs are retained according to applicable provider settings and operational needs. Emails and correction communications are retained only as reasonably needed to respond, investigate, document a correction, secure the service or meet legal obligations.

Information may be deleted or anonymized when it is no longer reasonably needed. You may request deletion, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention and record-integrity needs.

Reasonable safeguards are used for the service and its communications. No internet or email system can be guaranteed completely secure, so do not send sensitive information through public contact paths.

The service is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect information from children. Users should not submit sensitive information. A parent or guardian may contact the privacy address about information a child may have sent.

You may contact the Privacy Lead, SettleWorth to ask about personal information in direct communications, request access or correction where applicable, request deletion, or raise a privacy complaint.

This policy may be updated as the service, providers or legal obligations change. Material changes should be reflected by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, providing a notice on the site.

For general questions, use the configured general contact address on the Contact page. For settlement questions, the official administrator remains the appropriate source.
